Clarolyn Maier is a delightful entertainer who has performed internationally as a vocalist,pianist,harpist and broadway performer, She starred in the Tony nominated Broadway show “SWING!” and has appeared on many stages and venues from London to Tokyo’s Orchard Hall celebrating her great talent. Clarolyn’s recordings have received rave reviews in BILLBOARD, TiIME OUT NEW YORK, LA JAZZ Scene, JAZZIZ Magazine , Daily Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and many more. She has appeared in several music videos such as Warner Brothers “Quest for Camelot” video with Journey’s Steve Perry , Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” video and has been a guest artist on TV, Radio and film. Clarolyn continues to charm audiences around the world as a headliner and musician on luxury cruise lines, international venues and concerts sharing her signature style and interpretation of hand picked classics that surprise the listener as she creates her own arrangements and personal style on stage.
Long BIO:
Clarolyn Maier began her musical career at the age of three, singing and playing the autoharp in her father’s church in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She later studied privately the violin, trombone, piano and later the classical harp with Marion Fouse of the Portland Symphony. Active in musical theatre, she attended Portland State University, studying acting and theatre, USC‘s BFA program, and later graduated from UCLA in classical harp under the direction of Lou Anne Neil of the LA Philharmonic. Clarolyn studied musical theatre while attending UCLA and was awarded the Carol Burnett Musical Comedy Award and the Gil Rodin Pop Music Award.(Both Scholarships)
Her beloved vocal coach, Calvin Remsberg, a famed Broadway star (Sweeney Todd with Angela Landsbury, CATS with Ken Page, and Phantom with Sarah Brightman, as well as directing “Sweeney Todd ” with Stephen Sondheim ) Encouraged Clarolyn to audition for Dave Clemmons casting in New York where she landed the starring role in the Tony-nominated Broadway Show “SWING!” is touring North America and Japan, garnering great reviews. Her recordings (SESSIONS/BLUE EYES/LOVE LETTERS/FROM AMSTERDAM TO NEW ORLEANS ) have received admirable reviews in BILLBOARD, TIME OUT New York, LA JAZZ SCENE, JAZZIZ Magazine, Daily Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and other publications.
She has appeared on several music videos and performed in Hollywood for Warner Brother’s “Quest for Camelot” with Journey’s Steve Perry, Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up”Up”, Julie Andrew’s “The Princess Diaries”, Henry Mancini at The St Jame’s Club ,The Hollywood Bowl, The Grammys, The American Music Awards, and even the Playboy Mansion. While performing in
New Orleans, Clarolyn played “Imagine” on John Lennon’s piano for the BBC‘s Lennon Piano Peace Tour. While performing at the historic Kurhaus in the Hague, Netherlands, she played for the Nuclear World Summit, the West African President of Sierra Leone and began a project with the musical Ambassador/humanitarian, Obi Phrase (Africa Reggae Recording Artist) collaborating on recordings for Orphans of Ebola and performed for many other influential global leaders.
Clarolyn continues to perform around the world as a headliner on luxury cruise lines and venues from New York to London, charming her audiences with her unique interpretations of classics.
